Hotel, Restaurant, & Business Management is a four year program providing training and skills development in Cape Cod’s leading service industries: hospitality, retail services, and banking. Designed using a “cluster approach” to curriculum, the program focuses on marketing, accounting, management controls, human resource management, presentation and communications. Students are exposed to a variety of labs, including radio and television production, an in-school branch of the Cape Cod Five Cents Saving Bank, a school retail store, a school conference center, and off-site training at large hotels and restaurants on the Cape. Special events include co-operative participation within the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and field trips to luxury hotels and radio/TV stations. Students extend their learning and experience by planning and executing special events with training partner hotels.

A unique partnership with WBUR in Boston affords us the ability to expose our students to the challenges of radio broadcasting. Students run our own station WCCT as a business, gaining academic and technical skills in the process. Students also learn how to write and speak more concisely and deliberately.

Students work with a broad range of technologies including hospitality reservations software, banking software, broadcasting production software and office applications. The Hotel Restaurant and Business Management Program helps to prepare students for the American Lodging Association’s Lodging Management Program national certification.
