Pre-season Soccer Practice
Thursday, August 26, 2010
9:00AM - 10:30AM
Pre-season Soccer Practice is August 26, 2010 at Cape Cod Tech, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. In order to be prepared as an athlete, you must “work” on the following:
1. Cardiovascular: Run, bike, swim. Alternate days—hard, easy, hard, easy. For example, sprint, jog, sprint, jog—Easy day, slow jog.
2. Strength: Work on large muscles. For example, weights—alternate days. Upper body/lower body.
3. Flexibility: Stretch before/after cardiovascular and strength workouts.
4. If you do not already have a soccer ball, get one. Fifteen minutes a day, get as many touches on the ball as possible. For example, simply dribble the ball and, using both feet, change direction laterally or kick ball against a wall. You must work on your “touch.” Get comfortable with the ball at your feet.
Have a fun summer, eat healthy, get lots of rest, be ready come August 26.
