Cape Cod Tech

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Ninth Grade Students:

I would like to welcome the class of 2014 to the Cape Cod Tech Community. I am very excited for this upcoming school year and I look forward to meeting all the ninth grade students on August 31st for our Freshman Orientation Day.

The orientation day will help initiate the ninth grade into the Cape Cod Tech Community. It will offer these students the chance to become situated with the physical building as well as introduce them to their new classmates in a comfortable social environment. The most exciting part is that some of our upper classmen will be facilitating a majority of the event.

The day will begin with the Cape Cod Tech bus picking students up at their bus stop. This is a special one-day schedule that is attached to this letter.  Please do not confuse this with your permanent bus stop that was sent previous to this letter.

The school day commences when students enter the building. There will be tables set up in the front of school for students to pick-up their class schedule. Breakfast will then be offered in the cafeteria, where ninth grade students will be welcomed by upperclassmen. After breakfast, students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with their academic schedule. Students will file chronologically to their six scheduled classes, each with a different 15 minute activity to introduce them to the Cape Cod Tech Community. After students complete their schedule, they will reconvene in the cafeteria for brief class meeting. Students will then travel to the football field for a cookout and to watch The Varsity Crusader Football Team in a scrimmage. Students will then dismiss to busses around 12:30. Students being picked up can also leave at this time.

Again, this will be an exciting day. I know your students will enjoy all of the planned activities, as it will alleviate much of the anxiousness and nervousness that typically arises with the first day of high school. We look forward to seeing your student.

Sincerely,

Mr. John Piemontese

Dean of Students
