Graphic Arts trains students in advertising design, desktop publishing, and offset printing. Advertising design covers art history, color theory, and the basics of the design process. Desktop publishing covers computer layout using Adobe software products that are standard in the industry. Offset Printing covers basic press operation, bindery, job estimating, and spot and four-color process printing techniques.

The shop includes both the standard machinery still in common use by small local print shops and to state-of-the-art computerized equipment such as direct-to-plate printers, digital cameras, and color laser copiers. Instruction takes place in a full service shop serving the needs of the school and local clientele. Academic integration is a strong component of this technical program. Students write, edit and produce the school newspaper as well as publish the school’s yearbook.
