The Health Tech program includes a challenging academic component. In addition to learning technical skills, students pursue a specialized academic program that includes Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry and Medical Office Recordkeeping. Students gain real world experience working in clinical settings such as Cape Cod Hospital, Hospice House, Pleasant Bay Nursing & Rehab, and various healthcare facilities.
The Nurse’s Aide training program is approved yearly by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. After successful completion of the state written & practical exam, juniors receive Certified Nurse’s Aides (CNA) certification through the Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry. Students are eligible to take the Emergency Medical Technician state test after successful completion of the course during senior year, and upon reaching their 18th birthday. Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid is conducted yearly.
