The Social Studies Department offers students an opportunity to gain knowledge of history and skills that promote critical thinking and positive citizenship in our rapidly changing world. The Massachusetts Social Studies Frameworks provides the basis for the department curriculum. As they progress through the grades, students will study the history of the United States, contemporary issues, World History., psychology and economics. All courses emphasize the acquisition of historic knowledge. through reading, document study, discussion and research. Each course emphasizes the development of writing and critical thinking skills. Students will demonstrate their knowledge and skills with tests and quizzes as well as projects and presentations.
