Work Permits

Work permits are available in the Superintendent’s Office before school or before 8:00 a.m., immediately after school or after 2:30 p.m. or between the hours of 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. Work permits will not be done at any other times during the day.

Summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – please call ahead (508) 432-4500 x214

If you are under 18 years of age, you must obtain a work permit before starting a new job.


Steps for getting an Employment Permit:
1. Obtain a job offer from an employer

2. Ask the employer to complete the “Employment Permit Application for 14 through 17 Year-Olds” (a copy is available in the Superintendent’s Office or online at, http://www.mass.gov/Elwd/docs/dos/youth_employment/youth_application.pdf

3. Take the completed “Employment Permit Application for 14 through 17 Year-Olds” to the Superintendent’s Office. You should bring with you, your student ID along with proof of your age (birth certificate, passport, or immigration record).

4. Bring the signed employment permit to your employer
