• SCHOOL POLICIES

LOW ENROLLMENT:  Occasionally we need to cancel a class due to low enrollment. If this occurs, full refunds are made and students will be contacted at the phone number on record as early as possible.

    REFUND POLICY:
    • After the class starts there will be no refunds. Students who withdraw after a class has started are responsible for the full tuition.
    • For Licensing and Certification courses: Students withdrawing less than five (5) days prior to the start of class will be charged a $50 fee to offset the cost of materials already purchased for the class, plus a $6.95 registration fee.
    • For all other courses: students withdrawing before the start of class will be refunded full tuition minus $6.95 registration fee.
    • Tuition paid by credit/debit card will be refunded immediately, all other payment methods will be refunded by check at the end of the month.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:  Our courses are non-credit courses, so they do not qualify for federal aid. In some cases, vocational rehabilitation or workforce development boards will pay for qualified students to take our courses.  For some courses we do offer an interest-free payment plan.

NOTIFICATION: We do not call anyone unless the class you have signed up for is cancelled or there has been a change.

SMOKING: Smoking will not be permitted anywhere on school grounds in accordance with State Laws.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE: No substance abuse of any kind will be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal with no refund.

PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT: Students of the Community School are expected to behave in a professional and courteous manner.  Failure to do so can result in immediate dismissal from a course without a refund.  Examples of behavior which may result in dismissal include, but are not limited to, physical altercations; perceived or actual threats against another student or instructor; attempted or actual damage to any personal or public property; theft or attempted theft; violation of federal, state or local law on the premises.

REFRESHMENTS: All refreshments must be consumed in the cafeteria and not brought back to shops or classes.

We don't provide job placement services, our instructors will offer advice on finding your first job. Potential students should always do research on the job market in their area before registering.

INSTRUCTORS WANTED: If you have expertise in a field you feel would be of interest to our evening adult population, please give us a call at (508) 432-4500 Ext. 229. LATE PAYMENTS:  Payments more than 30 days overdue may be subject to an interest fee of 10% (compounded monthly).  Students who are more than 60 days behind on payments are subject to suspension from the program until payments are made. Students more than 90 days behind on payments are subject to explusion.

DEFERRALS:  On rare occasions, a student would like to defer attendance in a Certificate program to the following year. Deferrals are considered at the discretion of the Director and are determined depending on the length of time the class has been in session and the ability of the program to absorb the cost of the deferral. The student must also be in good financial standing with the program in order for a deferral to be approved.
