WELCOME

CCT is here to support staff and retirees with payroll, benefits, and leave requests. We understand that benefits and enrollment can be confusing, and we’re here to help. We manage a variety of employee benefits, including health insurance, dental coverage, life insurance, and more. Staff and retirees are encouraged to review their options regularly and come to the business offices for guidance to ensure they are enrolled in the plans that best meet their needs.

In addition to payroll and benefits, we can also assist with retirement and Medicare enrollment. Whether you’re preparing for retirement or just have questions about the process, we can help guide you through the steps, answer any questions, and ensure you have the right coverage in place as you transition.

Important: The open enrollment period for Fiscal Year 26 will run from May 1st to May 31st. During this time, employees and retirees can update their benefits, add dependents, or enroll in new coverage options. It’s a great opportunity to review current plans and make any necessary changes for the upcoming year.

For more information, please contact Kelly Richardson at krichardson@capetech.us, or stop by the business office."

Health Insurance Overview

At Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, we offer health insurance through two trusted providers: Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. We know that health insurance can be confusing, so we want to make sure Open Enrollment is as simple and clear as possible for you.

What You Need to Know:

  • If you're switching from one provider to another (e.g., Blue Cross to Harvard Pilgrim): You will need to complete both a cancellation form and an enrollment form for the new provider.
  • If you're changing plans within the same provider (e.g., switching from a BCBS HMO to a BCBS PPO): You only need to fill out one enrollment form for the new plan.

If you have any questions or need help with your forms, don’t hesitate to reach out. We're here to make the process as smooth as possible!

Accessing Your Insurance Cards on Your Smartphone

Did you know you can easily access your health insurance card on your smartphone? Both Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Harvard Pilgrim offer mobile apps that allow you to view and store your insurance cards digitally—no need to carry a physical card with you.

Simply download the BCBS or Harvard Pilgrim app from your phone’s app store, log in with your account, and your digital insurance card will be right at your fingertips whenever you need it.

Having your insurance card on your phone is a quick and convenient way to stay prepared while on the go!

Welcome to Open Enrollment for Retirees!

This is your annual opportunity to review and make changes to your benefits for the upcoming calendar year. Since we operate on a calendar year, all changes you make during this open enrollment period will take effect on January 1st. Be sure to carefully review your options to ensure your benefits continue to meet your needs in the coming year. If you have any questions or need assistance, we’re here to help!

Cape Cod Regional Technical High School offers benefits to retired employees who are receiving a pension from the state or county retirement program. These benefits include health, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.

If you’re a retired employee under 65, you’ll stay on the active employee health plan. Once you turn 65, you’ll transition to Medicare and supplemental plans. According to Massachusetts law (M.G.L. Chapter 32B, Section 18), all retirees, their spouses, surviving spouses, and dependents must enroll in Medicare Parts A and B if eligible to continue receiving supplemental health insurance through Cape Cod Tech.

To enroll, contact the Social Security Administration about three months before turning 65. They will determine if you qualify for Medicare and issue a card for Parts A and B. If you're not eligible for Medicare, you’ll receive a Statement of Ineligibility from Social Security. You must provide this to Cape Cod Tech to stay on your current non-Medicare plan.

Please note: Only former employees who are eligible for benefits qualify for this coverage.

If you are not making any changes to your current coverage:
You don’t need to do anything! All of your plans will automatically roll over into the new year.
