The�MSBA Board of Directors approved an increase in reimbursement rate for the Cape Cod Tech project.� The change increases the project's reimbursement rate by over 5 points which means eligible costs will be reimbursed at over 51%.� This vote was expected after the hard work of State Representative Sarah Peake.� Representative Peake was able to get supplemental budget language passed that recognized the true number of economically disadvantaged students attending the school.� The total increase in state funding for the project is estimated at $5.3 million.��

Read MoreThe district town clerks attended an informational meeting hosted by Superintendent Bob Sanborn along with Business Administrator Erin Orcutt and the Culinary Arts program. The purpose of the meeting was to review the mechanics of the district-wide vote on October 24, 2017. School officials were joined by their bond council, Richard Manley. Mr. Manley provided a sample warrant that will be the basis for the October 24, 2017 ballot. The luncheon provided the opportunity for a vibrant question and answer period with bond council and the school. The vote will take place in all twelve district towns on October 24, 2017 with the polls open from 12PM - 8PM. The ballot election seeks to authorize Cape Cod Tech to borrow for the construction of a new facility. The election is governed by the district's regional agreement and Massachusetts General Law Chapter 71 Section 16 (n).

Sanborn made a presentation to the MSBA's Facilities Assessment Subcommittee detailing the preferred solution chosen for Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. As stated previously, the school building committee unanimously voted for a new building located on the current property east of the existing facility. The fifteen minute presentation was followed by a question and answer period. In advance of this presentation, the team had submmitted a Preferred Schematic Report (PSR) to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA). The district team was asked to respond to a few comments and concerns of the subcommiittee regarding the PSR submission, in writing, before moving into Schematic Design which is scheduled for February 15, 2017.
